Since the cottage was more or less done - they still needed some things to do on the inside and paint - this was the first time Remus was bringing Dora by to see it. They would also get a chance to start painting (after he charmed the paint so it wouldn't harm her or the babies in any way), and Remus was looking forward to this.
They would be married soon. Again. And they were expecting a child, again, but this time it was two babies. At once.
Remus was terrified.
Not of the wedding, but of double the possibility of passing his condition down to his children. He loved his children, but the fear that they would be werewolves because of him would take over at times, leaving him quiet for days, but he never left. He wouldn't make the same mistake he had done before and, in a way of his to prove it, he had a surprise for Dora in the cottage. Once they crossed the threshold of the front door he covered her eyes and guided her upstairs towards the bedrooms. Specifically, towards the bare room that had a wooden rocking chair in the corner, and where
two stuffed bears were waiting on it.
This would be their daughters' room. The one he wanted to paint first, followed by Maisie's and then Teddy's, because it was his way of saying that no matter what he may be feeling, and no matter what may happen, he would never leave her or their children alone again. Maybe she didn't need the reassurance, but there were times when he did because his mistake twenty years ago was still far too recent in his mind.
Uncovering her eyes, he placed his hands now on her shoulders and enjoyed the view of the room being illuminated by the setting sun before getting close enough to say in a sort of whisper close to her ear, "Welcome to our daughters' room, Mrs Lupin."
