*** В интернете есть несколько слов о творчестве Endre, но они на английском. Приведу их в оригинале, так как времени на перевод пока что нет (в будущем он обязательно появится) ***

Endre Penovac lives in a gingerbread house. One of his studio’s windows faces north, the other one overlooks the garden. When not resting in the shade of the Sky Vine, his two corded coat Pulis guard the entrance. Distinguishing mark of his street: where the Acacia branches hang over the road.

Care to see the puszta through an artist’s eyes? Come meet Endre Penovac, a painter from Vojvodina (Serbia), on the Pannonian plain. Through his art, you will no longer be an “onlooker”, but become part of the Whole he perceives in the land.

How could you possibly love the puszta, the desert, the wilderness? This plain, treeless, barren, motionless, empty, desolate land, where only the herdsmen and cattlemen roam the vast grasslands. Their faithful herding and droving dogs, when exhausted from a long day’s work, rest in the shade, and keep their watchful eyes on the flocks.

But what is there beyond this? Many fail to understand what the beauty of this land is, what might its appeal be. There are no secrets, no mystery, no excitement, and no place to hide. …Only the endless, unvarnished horizon. A two-colored reality: the earth and the sky.

Is this a mirage or an actual land? Unadorned as it is, its image changes by the moment; it radiates a new sentiment, a new character in the blink of an eye. A cloud passes by, and the blue of the sky and the green of the fields vanish, as if they had never been there before.

And winter comes. The fairest virgin of them all, under its diamond white veil, the land dreams of the impish summer. At the roots of tired blades of grass, the waterfront (puddle) thirsts for joy: a footprint, a ray of sun.

Water? Then let it be sea. A red one. Of ephemeral flowers. Let it be whole, perfect, if for a moment alone. Let winter’s frozen landscape bloom in vivid colors of May. A land without horizons or desires. Arms stretched to accept and embrace the world as it is. As it is right now: red, and happy, and endless. To dive into plenitude.

Endre Penovac lives in Bačka Topola (Vojvodina, Serbia), in a gingerbread house, in joy with his wife and three children. One of his studio’s windows faces north, the other one overlooks the garden. When not resting in the shade of the Sky Vine, his two corded coat Pulis guard the entrance. Distinguishing mark of his street: where the Acacia branches hang over the road.

He strives for wholeness and harmony. He’s the mirror of his surroundings. Everything there is will come to him. He once said, “The subject is an excuse to express something else as well”. When the theme doesn’t come into his studio on its own, he goes out to meet it. He sees, he experiences, he tastes it, and he gives new meaning to it. If it has a form, he endows it with spirit. If he wants to transfer his feelings to canvas, he gives them form.

The artist would say, Behold wholeness and harmony. This is my Entire world. It is this simple.

For him.
