As another week draws to a close, I just thought I would post some more snippets from my life over here in Brussels...just for your pleasure and entertainment.

The first thing to report is that, after an extremely long, beautifully mild season of mists and mellow fruitfulness etc, it is now officially winter over here. It is Abysmally Cold, Pouring Wet and Bloody Windy. But at least my apartment hasn't been hit by a tornado. Yet.

Work in the Commission is gearing up for the end-of-year deadlines. I'm on my last major project for 2006; from now on it's going to be mince pies and gluwein all the way, baby! Next week we have the Legal Service Christmas party, and the hilarity of my choir (we don't sound too bad now - we've even got the Polish bits for one of the carols sorted out), and then I'm off to court again...and then some little bits and bobs and then back to the UK for some festivities and seeing many friends and lovely lovely family, hurrah.

Little news other than work...my life revolves around the Commission at the moment, as well it should! I'm still having great fun here, and have got involved in organising a conference on Human Security. Sounds cool; plenty to learn as it's a very new concept. Also plenty of hard work... as I seem to now be part of the "sorting out the on-the-day stuff" team. Delegation, delegation, delegation!

In other news, I am still shit at card magic, I've started scribbling jokes and song refrains down for Aladdin (which Dom and I are starting to make noises about writing), I'm wondering about the marketing potential of TSoB taking a revue to the Fringe 07, and I've got a wonderful idea for a short story. I also went shopping for the first time in months, and have consequently got the softest cardigan in the universe to wrap up in against the winter chills. Oh, my most exciting bit of news is of course... I have a Beth coming to stay this weekend, which is MARVELLOUS, as she's made of joy.

So not much else to report...all very quiet over here. Looking forward to coming home now, though I'm still loving Brussels muchly.
