"FEED ME, Seymour!"

Have an interesting/exciting thing to report.

Most of you know that I am working to watch my calories and exercise and lose weight. I kind of ignored my quest for a while there, but I am hardcore back on track now.

Anyway, I really had a case of the munchies this evening. - I didn't give in to it, but I was really really craving snacks, especially chocolate.

Now, my family has more-or-less gone off sugar for the month of January to try to detox from all the holiday junk we ate. Some are completely off and others allow ourselves a little treat every once in a while, mostly brownies or something on the weekend.

So, I thought that this rather pushy craving was a result of my mind saying "Oh! It's Friday night! I get to have junk food!!!" and I was really pretty disappointed in myself.

I'd had plenty to eat during the day - lots of fruit and homemade bread and not one but two different homemade soups - leftover vegetable for lunch and mexican tortilla for dinner.

Or that's what I thought.

When I finally entered the rest of my food into the nutrition tracker at Spark it showed my total intake for the day was ...

... 972 calories.

Oh.

So THAT explains why my body was telling me "Gosh, we wanna EAT!" - It really WAS hungry!

I then went back into the kitchen and fixed myself a nice frozen treat - put a orange, some blueberries, a cup or so of frozen raspberries, and about 1/2 cup of fatfree orange sherbert into the blender - it was DELICIOUS!

(and doubly good because I was able to enjoy it guilt-free AND knew that all the stuff I'm doing is working!)

(PLUS... my Razzle-Dazzle-Delight only brought my calories up 1192 for the day!)
