TV Talk - Robots and Guns and Potential Crossovers, Oh My!

First off, how odd is it that I haven't talked about tv since Thanksgiving? Of course, I haven't posted much at all since then, but still.

So, there's not really a lot on right not - in the way of scripted shows, at least, which is what I consider to be actually "television" -

However, some of the shows are still playing out their last few prepared episodes, and of course there's mid-season replacements.

Which brings us to The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

I watched the pilot last week and recorded the second episode and finally got around to watching it this weekend. Looks like it could be fun. The main actress is nowhere near Linda Hamilton in T2, but she's not a soccermom either. There's Summer, of course, and I loved the guy when he was Zack over on Heroes last season. I tend to stick with shows because I really love the characters and/or actors AND am interested in their main concept/plot "hook" - so this show has a several things in the "Keeper" column already.

My only question is...Where is the Sarah Connor Chronicles/Supernatural crossover fic?

I mean, it could hardly be more perfect if they were deliberately TRYING to set it up.

Even setting aside the whole Young John Connor - Sam Winchester parallels. (Floppy-haired emo geek raised by a tragically-widowed, obsessed parent, always on the run, reared as a soldier, longing for a normal life but knowing he's destined for some sort of messiah role in an apocalyptic future, which makes him a glowing target for the baddies out there.)

I mean, consider just these factoids from the latest episode:

~ John can pick locks very easily
~ He can also take down someone much larger than he is extremely efficiently and that is his instinctive reaction
~ No stranger to the ritual of fake IDs and cover stories, oh yeah, and their latest persona background has them hailing from Lawrence, Kansas!!!!

I mean, COME ON!

Now, I have read Terminator/Supernatural (preseries) crossover fic and although I'd never thought of it before, it worked shockingly well together. After all, John Connor and Sam Winchester are only about a year apart in age (or WERE until the whole time travel jump in the series pilot) And if there was anyone that John Winchester or Sarah Connor might make a connection with after losing the love of their life, learning the truth is out there and being thrust into a life on the run, and the seedy underworld of fake IDs, credit card scams, and gun running, it could hardly be more perfect than each other.

tv, new tv, supernatural, sarah connor chronicles, crossover
