40,000 lbs of peanuts?
Apparently so.

As I understand it:

Once upon a time there was a little show called "Jericho" about a random group of seemingly ordinary individuals cut off from the rest of the world by sudden disaster and forced to learn to work together to confront hardships, fear, and opposition from both without and within while they question just what exactly happened and how they can get back to their lives.

Completing this "Lost"-esque premise is the young dark-haired potential heartthrob with (extremely useful in an isolated, post-apocalyptic disater zone) previous medical AND military training who is called upon to take leadership in this newly forming society; the mysterious, laconic man with unusual knowledge of the current situation and a shadowy past; oh, yeah, and rumors that they may not be as alone as they first thought, the disaster could be a hoax or a government conspiracy/experiment, etc...

Fastforward to Spring 2007. "Jericho" is cancelled. Some people don't care. Some people begin a "Save Jericho!" campaign.

Season (and Series) Finale airs. At some point a character says "Nuts!" in response to something else. The Internet perks up its ears.

The following is a dramatization of actual events.
