You know that state between awake and asleep? That most treasured one, where you’re a little conscious but you try desperately to grab ten more minutes or to finish a dream? This is my favorite state of being. You can actually Steer an unfinished dream somewhat, or repair a bad one. Well, this morning I found myself singing. I don’t remember any setting or activity or colors. (I very often dream in color - perfect color and detail.) But I became aware of what I was singing, and more than one verse of this hymn, too. When I woke up fully (or gave up hope of sleeping more), I found I couldn’t remember much of the other verses. But every morning should start out with “Great is Thy Faithfulness”. Not only a great tune to sing, but what an appropriate way to start the day! “….Morning by morning new mercies I see. All I have needed Thy Hand hath provided. Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me.”

1.. Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father! There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not: As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be.
CHORUS:
Great is Thy faithfulness, Great is Thy faithfulness, Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided - Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, into me !
2.. Summer and winter and springtime and harvest, Sun, moon, and stars in their courses above,
Join with all nature in manifold witness To thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love.
3.. Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth, Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide,
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow - Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!
