Diana had known there would be rumors, once her pregnancy got too far along to hide. She'd resolved to keep her head held high. She had nothing to be ashamed of.
Well, except for the little errands she sent Jones on...
They met furtively in the supply closet.
"Did you get it?" she whispered.
He handed her a plain package, heavy with secrets. "It wasn't easy...but I've always got your back, Di."
She flashed him a grateful smile, then unwrapped the parcel, lifted the top slice of bread and looked.
Peanut butter, pineapple, and onion. Just what she wanted.
