I took the GRE yesterday and did about as well as I expected and what I needed to do. I got a 540 on the verbal section, mainly because I didn't study/practice as much as I should've. That's okay though because the average of the places I'm applying is about 550. The math was an 800, at least I think it was an 800 because I looked at it for 3 minutes and I don't think it's easy to mistake a 6 for an 8 that long. That too is what I needed because the average for the places I'm applying is about 750. I considered taking it again to raise my verbal score, but it's not worth the work or money to get my verbal score a little bit higher. I know that GRE scores aren't the most important things for admission to Grad school, but mine won't hurt me which is good. I also think that the best part of my application will be the recommendations. That being said, I still have to finish the applications, the largest part of it is the Personal Statement, but I think that as long as I start early and have people read it and then I revise it, it should come out okay. It is nice that it will be about the same for all the schools, I'm applying to, I just have to change the part about why I want to go to that school. It is a relief to have the general GREs, now the only two painful things I have left are the Physics GRE and application fees! GAG!!!
After I got back I watched Lost in Translation which I really like. There were also festivities last night that were pretty fun up until this morning when we had to wake up at 5am to volunteer at a Triathlon. That was not fun! I didn't feel okay until I slept from 12:30-3:30 this afternoon. Now I'm just in the process of getting work done.
