Curiosity Killed the Cat
She put me through so much,
I should just let her be,
But I never want to let someone go.
Leaving someone behind never made sense to me.
She left me long ago,
The memories don't depart so fast.
Part of me will always feel for her, but
I have to leave the past in the past.
Sometimes I get a little curious,
But I can't get rid of this black cat,
When I saw her picture today,
I was frozen where I sat.
The cat is heading toward the street,
Straight for a speeding car.
Its death seems slow and agonizing
As I see it from afar.
I'd like to be able to save this cat's life,
But I know it's going to die.
Curiosity killed the cat,
Though I can't just let it lie.
