"Close your eyes and stay away..."
Reasons why I hate John McCain:
- He voted FOR banning funds from groups who perform abortions
- He voted FOR banning third term abortion in any situation where the woman's life isn't in danger (though her health is fair game)
- He voted FOR the Help America Vote Act (which definitely does NOT help anyone vote)
- He basically voted AGAINST reapplying habeas corpus to American detainees
- He voted multiple times FOR a constitutional amendment banning flag burning
- He voted FOR the Defense of Marriage Act defining marriage between a man and a woman
- He voted FOR No Child Left Behind
- He voted FOR the confirmations of John Roberts and Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court
- He voted FOR making it illegal to transport a teen across state lines to get an abortion (unless you're the parent, though if you're the father both of the pregnant teen and the fetus, you still can't take her)
- He voted AGAINST providing teens with comprehensive sex education
- He voted FOR the Unborn Victims of Violence Act (which charges people for two crimes when a pregnant woman is injured and the fetus is harmed not because they care for the supposed life of the fetus but because it's one more step towards defining personhood as starting at conception)
- He voted FOR the USA PATRIOT Act
- He voted FOR banning Internet gambling
The only good thing I can say about him is that he voted FOR stem cell research. If he wins, I'm moving to Canada. The good news is that I'd be in Minnesota at that time, which means I'd be much closer to the Canadian border there than I would here in Georgia.
