Another much shorter excerpt
I don't think I'll be happy if I don't get to 50k, but I am quite pleased and surprised that I've managed to get so far.

I don't know if anyone bothered to read my last very long excerpt, but this one is short and sweet. I was trying to input a little more humour, because a lot of my writing so far seems kind of dry.
“Hi, Princess, did you miss me?”
“Like a blonde misses jokes.”
“Hey. No need to be racist. Didn’t think I would get that one did you? I’m just a dumb blonde.”
“How about … I missed you like a claustrophobe misses the open air?”
“Definitely better, but you still have to make up for the blonde joke.”
“Like a vampire misses his coffin at dawn? Like a Norman Bates misses the smell of blood. Like the Texas massacre guy misses his chainsaw. Like…”
“I get the picture. Remind me never to ask you to write me a poem. Did you have anything in particular that you wanted to do?”
“Not really. You?”
Jenn pulled out a long list. “I have a few ideas.”
Chris took the list. “A few, huh?” The list filled up the lined sheet and continued on the back. “Math wasn’t you’re forte, I guess.”
“I think I probably did better in math than you did in your romantic poetry class.”
