(fanfic) Boring No More Chapter 5
Tatsuya sat up on the couch and stretched his arms out above his head. Right now he was glad he hadn’t left the curtains hanging open, as the sunlight would just make him feel a lot worse. After taking some aspirin and drinking a glass of water, he set out another glass and a few aspirin for Junno to take when he got up.
He tiredly made his way down the hall and towards the bathroom, where upon entering he went directly to the sink to wash his face in hopes of the cold water waking him up a little more. As he was about to head towards the toilet however, something caught his eye and caused him to look towards the large bathtub. He was shocked to see what looked like a leg and an arm hanging out over the side and a head with a yellow towel covering it leaning against the back of the tub.
“What the hell is…Oh my god did, Junno try taking a bath last night while I was sleeping and accidently drown in the tub?!”
Panic and worry surged through Tatsuya and compelled him to run over to the tub to see if Junno was alright. He was surprised to see that the tub was empty of water, and was instead covered in a light yellowish sort of stain. He moved his foot a little on the floor and was a bit surprised to feel it come in contact with something. So after bending down and looking at it, he discovered that it was a box of blonde hair dye he had bought during his Gackt period (he hadn’t used it because it had been the wrong shade).
He looked from the box to Junno and then realization dawned upon him.
“No way…”
Tossing the box into the sink a few feet away, Tatsuya reached out with his right hand and nervously touched Junno’s head. That was not a yellow towel on his head. That was his hair. It was quite an amusing sight, and it made Tatsuya want to laugh, however…
“Junno looks really hot with blonde hair.”
Tatsuya shook his head and tried to think of a way to wake the sleeping man up. He glanced over and saw the spout for bath water and then he glanced towards his separate shower. A smirk formed on his lips and there was an evil glint in his eyes. But first…
“Hey Junno… It’s time to get up.” Tatsuya shook the other’s shoulder very lightly, and all Junno did was turn his head away and mumble something incoherent. The smirk on Tatsuya’s face widened even more.
“Well, I guess I have no choice.” Tatsuya thought as he continued to smirk and did his best not to laugh. He had tried to wake Junno up, but this way was going to be much more fun. He managed to drag Junno out of the bathtub and into the shower without causing the other to wake up.
“It’s kind of funny how he didn’t wake up at all when I dragged him out of the tub. He must have one hell of a hangover.”
Shaking his head, Tatsuya went back to the task at hand. Slowly he reached for the cold water knob and carefully turned it…
“AH!!!~ It’s cold! Turn it off, turn it off!”
Junno woke up after only being sprayed with cold water for a few seconds and he promptly began yelling about how cold it was. Laughing, Tatsuya turned off the cold water and tossed Junno a dry towel.
“Morning Junno. Did you sleep well?” Tatsuya intentionally didn’t mention the fact that Junno had been asleep in his bathtub, or the fact that Junno had somehow dyed his hair blonde. Junno only stared blankly up at Tatsuya, clutching the white, fluffy towel that had been thrown at him only a moment ago.
“How did I get here?” He said after a moment of silence.
“Well, as I recall, you told me that you were too drunk to remember where you lived.” Tatsuya said with a smile on his face.
“Oh I see. Well, I guess I slept pretty good… But my head really hurts. Your bathroom is way too bright.”
Tatsuya could no longer hold in his laughter at hearing that and he promptly burst into laughter, not stopping for a few minutes. When he had stopped laughing and was finally able to collect his breath to speak, he spoke.
“Junno, if you take a look around my bathroom, you’ll notice it’s not all that bright. It’s a deep, elegant purple and white color. You’re just focusing only on the white in here.”
“Oh.” Junno blinked and looked around at the large bathroom and noticed that indeed there was a lot of elegant purple and not just white. He looked up to see Tatsuya smirking down at him, with amusement in his eyes.
“What’s so funny, Tatsuya?”
Tatsuya just shook his head and smiled, this time a soft smile that made Junno’s heart flutter.
“I’ll leave you to get cleaned up ok? I’m going to go make some breakfast.”
Junno only blinked as Tatsuya turned and left the bathroom. He began smiling, though, at the thought of the other bringing him back to his apartment instead of making one of their coworkers bring him home with them. Then his hangover really hit him and he groaned at the pain in his head, the wonderful thought momentarily forgotten.
“Well, might as well clean myself up a bit before breakfast...”
Junno thought as he stood up and got out of the shower, walking over to the sink. He didn’t seem to notice his reflection in the mirror as he washed his face. However, upon picking up the towel and looking up…
“WHAT HAPPENED TO MY HAIR?!”
Tatsuya chuckled from where he was standing in front of the stove. Junno had discovered his now blonde hair and would probably be running in here any second to ask Tatsuya. As Tatsuya predicted, Junno came running out of the bathroom and following the smell of food cooking, ran into the kitchen.
“Tatsuya, what happened to my hair? It’s… It’s...”
“Blonde?” Tatsuya said happily, not bothering to keep the amused grin off of his face.
“Yes blonde, but what happened?” Junno said, confusion etched onto his face.
Tatsuya just laughed in response for a minute before he pulled himself together and was able to give a reply.
“That’s a good question. You tell me because I found you asleep in the bathtub when I got up this morning with a yellowish stain all over the bottom of the tub, and you with blonde hair.”
“…”
Junno said nothing but stared at Tatsuya, and the longer he stared the harder the older man had to fight to keep the blush off of his face.
“Well… I guess I was too drunk last night to even remember what I was doing. Sorry about the mess in your tub though. I’ll clean it up for you if you...” Junno started but was interrupted by Tatsuya.
“No, it’s fine. I’ll just have one of my maids clean it up. That’s what I pay them for after all.”
Junno’s eyes widened slightly in surprise.
“You have maids?”
A light blush spread across Tatsuya’s cheeks.
“Ah yeah. It’s much easier to hire them instead of trying to keep up with the cleaning myself.”
Junno smiled at the blush he saw on the other’s cheeks, but didn’t say anything to indicate that he had seen it.
“Well, that’s cool. Do you have any aspirin by the way? My head is killing me.” Junno said, running his fingers through his hair to massage his head. Tatsuya, who had now turned back towards the stove, pointed in the direction of the counter where he had set out the glass of water and aspirin.
“Ah, thanks.” Junno said gratefully as he walked over and took the aspirin and then drank the entire glass of water. Ten minutes later found the two of them sitting down to a simple breakfast; pancakes and eggs.
“Umai~ Tatsuya this is really good. Where did you learn to cook like this?”
Tatsuya’s cheeks immediately flushed a light shade of pink at the compliment and he did his best to hide it behind his cup of tea.
“Uh, thanks Junno. It’s nothing really. It’s just something I picked up while growing up.”
“Ah, that’s cool. I learned to cook a few fairly simple dishes from my mother, but nothing ever too detailed. I was more interested in video games than cooking when I was younger… Still am actually.” Junno chuckled lightly as he spoke.
“Really? I’ve become more interested in video games lately myself. Perhaps we could play together sometime? I recently bought a Wii and a whole bunch of games to go with it.” Tatsuya said as he tried to avoid looking directly at Junno. It would only result in him staring and he really didn’t want to get caught staring at the other.
“It sounds like fun. I’d love to play with you sometime.” Junno said flashing Tatsuya smile as he finished up his breakfast. He took note of the fact that Tatsuya seemed to be avoiding looking directly at him, which he had to admit he was amused by. He set down his fork as he finished and silently watched the other eat as well.
“Beautiful…” Junno murmured.
“Did you say something, Junno?” Tatsuya asked, looking up when he thought he heard Junno saying something, but he didn’t quite catch what it was.
Junno’s eyes widened in shock as he realized that he said his thoughts out loud. He quickly tried to think of something to say, but he surprised both himself and Tatsuya with what came out of his mouth.
“I said that uhhh… You’re beautiful.”
Junno’s face flushed immediately and he turned to gaze at the other side of the room, avoiding looking at Tatsuya. Tatsuya sat there in shock for a few minutes before his brain registered what Junno had said and he too started blushing.
“You really think so? I didn’t think I was beautiful...”
“Really? You’re extremely beautiful! You’re the most beautiful person I’ve ever seen, Tat-chan!” Junno said.
Tatsuya blushed bright red.
“Tat-chan? That sounds like a girl’s name. I’m not a girl you know.” Tatsuya said, looking away while pouting and pretending to be angry. But in fact he was far from it. He was extremely happy that Junno thought that he was beautiful. Junno laughed at Tatsuya’s reaction.
“Sorry, it kind of slipped out. If you don’t want me to call you Tat-chan I won’t. But I was serious when I said that you’re beautiful.” Junno said, his expression turning serious.
“Thanks Junno, umm… Want to help me wash the dishes?” Tatsuya said, attempting to change the subject.
“He thinks I’m beautiful… Does that mean…? No. I won’t think about that right now. I should just focus on getting ready for the rest of the day. I do wonder what I should do though…Maybe go shopping?”
Tatsuya thought as he stood up and gathered his dishes and made his way into the kitchen. Junno followed him silently, also in thought.
“I can’t believe I said that to him! But it’s true though, he really is beautiful. I wonder though… Would he ever feel the same way? We haven’t even known each other two days yet and I’m already in love with him! It doesn’t matter though… Wait! I love him?!”
Junno was so deep in thought that he ran right into Tatsuya, nearly causing the other to drop his dishes.
“Junno, you should watch where you’re going.” Tatsuya said as he turned around to face Junno, immediately noticing the close distance between them. Both men blushed a little and Junno immediately stepped back, which actually made Tatsuya a little sad at the increase in distance between them.
“We’ve only known each other for less than two days and yet I’m already falling in love with him. Wait, falling in love with him?! It would be nice to go out with him today though…Almost like a date maybe. We have the day off anyways… Wait, what am I thinking? A date? That’s impossible! Junno’s probably into very beautiful women. There’s no way he’d fall for me!”
After the little incident, they proceeded to wash the dishes together in complete silence, standing side by side in front of the sink. (Tatsuya was washing the dishes and Junno was drying them.)
“You know, if people saw us standing here like this, I bet they’d think that we’re a couple.” Junno said, breaking the silence and turning to Tatsuya with a smile on his face. Tatsuya blushed a little again. It was kind of pissing him off really. He had never blushed so much before. But then again, he didn’t really mind blushing in front of Junno as long as nothing embarrassing had happened to him.
“You think so?” Tatsuya replied as he handed the last plate to the taller man.
“Yeah, I think so.” Junno said as he took the last plate from Tatsuya.
“Hey Junno, I was thinking… Since we have the day off… Would you like to go out somewhere? We could go shopping or something.”
Junno nearly dropped the plate in surprise, but he managed to catch himself.
“Go out somewhere? As in a date?”
Tatsuya blushed again. “Well, if you’d like, it could be a date.”
“Really? Well then… It’s a date! Shopping sounds really fun. I could use some new clothes anyways. We could go out to eat lunch and even dinner if you’d like.” Junno said happily, flashing the other a bright smile. He had to admit, he was nervous now. He and Tatsuya would be going on their first date after all.
“A date it is. I wouldn’t peg you for the type to like shopping though, but we can have some fun picking out new clothes for you. Why don’t I go get changed and then we can go? You can just buy some new clothes to wear. That way you don’t have to waste time going home and changing.” Tatsuya made his way into his bedroom and picked out a pair of jeans and a t-shirt as well as a sweater to go over it. He changed and then stepped out of his room to see Junno waiting for him outside his bedroom door.
“Uhh, shall we go then? Maybe we could also get your hair fixed before anyone at work sees it. They’ll probably give you a lot of crap for having blonde hair.” Tatsuya said, suddenly feeling a little nervous at the idea of going out with Junno, but at the same time extremely happy.
“Yeah, let’s go. And whats wrong with my blonde hair? I’m actually getting used to it now...” Junno said, pouting slightly, which caused Tatsuya to laugh.
“Nothing’s wrong with your blonde hair. In fact, it looks incredibly hot on you. I was just saying that because I wasn’t sure if you liked it or not, but since you said that you do, you can keep it for a while.” Tatsuya said, not really caring that he had just called Junno incredibly hot.
“Thanks for saying I look incredibly hot with blonde hair. No one has ever even told me that I was hot before.” Junno said with a blush as he and Tatsuya made their way out of the apartment. Tatsuya smiled.
“Well, it’s true. I… I really do think that you’re hot with blonde hair. Even with your dark brown hair though, you were pretty cute.” Tatsuya didn’t blush again, but he flashed Junno a genuine smile.
Junno blushed though. “Ok you can stop now… You’re making me blush.”
Tatsuya laughed. “As you wish, Junno.”
Junno turned a flashed a smile at the other, reaching his arm out and hesitating a moment before grabbing Tatsuya’s hand and holding it, not letting go. To say Tatsuya was surprised would be an understatement, but he smiled and didn’t pull his hand away. Instead, he gave Junno’s hand a soft squeeze. The two were soon heading towards the train station, having decided that they would go to Shibuya first.
