I'm told I'm bat shit crazy and I'm starting to believe it...
Clark County Fair proved to be everything I expected....lots of sleepless night, lots of work, lots of kids bored and fighting, but lots of fun too. Corey turned in photography for the first time and took home Junior Champion with his picture of Atticus (Ben Brothers). I turned in a bunch of weaving and did pretty good. I also turned in my hand sewn underdress and one of my apron dresses with TW trim. On Casey's underdress there was a strange comment....it says "Shows a lot of wear, This dress is more than a year old. Is it to have the jumper over it? It does look nice. Is this dress store bought?" Ummmm.....perhaps most people only wear "costumes" once a year....some kids run around in these things every weekend! Wierd that they thought it might have been store bought and still just got a Red ribbon...hmmm. I laughed when I read the comment. They were very intrigued about the TW and asked lots of questions so I warped up my loom, wove a couple feet, and took it in for a display. I ended up with an entire display cabinet with my stuff in it, loom, trim, trim, and Cyriac's Hat. And then I went and wove as a demo a couple times, lots of curious people asking lots of questions. Spent 1 night racing polarises. Spent one night painting the Queen's Court's horses. Spent one night in tears after recieving a particularly emotional Memorial award. Rhodi did not appreciate the midnight ride to get me through that one.
I got home at midnight last night to a horror show in living room! All Craig's stuff from Autumn War, all my stuff from Fair, and all the kids stuff too. Slowly sorting my house out this morning. It amazes me that Craig, at home on his own for 10 days couldn't keep the house a little neater. At least then I would just have to clean up from coming home. Not doind dishes, and scrubbing floors. The rest of the summer looks just as busy.
The kids start school in 9 days, THANK GOD!! I am a tired cranky Mama today. Corey did the best thing and ran away to the neighbors.
Oh and the ankle.....still doesn't hurt, but continues to swell....not sure that it doesn't need to be checked out. I don't want a deformed foot for the rest of my life...but I am afaid a doc would say more ice, more elevation, and more rest....he obviously doesn't know me. One would think that if there was something wrong with a body part it would hurt??
Hope everyone is having a great summer
