Ooh, shiny ficathon!!
dark_agenda have set a four week Racebending Revenge challenge to mark the release of the horrendously whitewashed Avatar: The Last Airbender on July 2. The challenge is:
Re-write one or more white characters in the fandom(s) of your choice as chromatic/non-white/PoC, in a story of at least 500 words, with some acknowledgment of how the racial difference would make a difference to the story being told.

500 words is barely anything and I think we could produce some really interesting fic. Currently on my mind is a Latina Buffy and a Spike with an Indian father who had something to do with the East India Company. Current research suggests he was a sponsored student (might have to push Spike's turning back a bit), but the thinking is on-going...
