another adventure
today's adventure began with a drive to the beach for me, nina, rebecca, kiri and karen. we went to cannon beach, even though it was in the 50s and cloudy. first stop was bruce's kitchen for some salt water taffy. after some wandering around, we changed into swimsuits and grabbed our towels to head down to the water. after swimming (some people were skinny dipping...don't ask) we were numb from the water up to our necks. as we were getting out, a lady came walking over to us in boots, pants, and a winter jacket (yes, it was that cold). she introduced herself as kathy from the cannon beach gazette, the local newspaper. she said her editor had seen us walking down the street in the rain, wearing just swimsuits and towels and thought we were crazy, so he sent her out to see if she could get a pic and a story. we all sat down in the water and she took a picture of us. then she got our names and our schools (notre dame, princeton, tennessee, and michigan) and found out that we were all just back from college and had rowed together in highschool (except karen) and were just spending a day at the beach. the whole thing was rather humorous, and apparently our picture is going in the paper tomorrow.
