Hi everyone! it's time for another totally random sporadic post from bradley! more will come soon. . . maybe. Hopefully!

So my potential future as a dairy farmer has been squashed, to some extent, by the fact that I seem to be lactose intolerant. What a cruel twist that has been! I am still exploring exactly what it is that sends my tummy into extraordinarily painful bouts of cramping and gurgling. Ice cream seems to be a particularly violent offender. This makes me cry.
Interestingly, though, I can now personally attest to things I have heard about consuming raw (unpasteurized) milk products, which are supposed to be much easier to digest. I can drink raw milk with relative impunity! At least that gives me hope. I haven’t tried goat milk yet.
Another interesting tangent to this issue is that it took me a while to visit the doctor, because I don’t have health insurance. I finally was able to go to the
Ithaca Free Clinic - an amazing and wonderful organization from this wonderful little city.
Not having health insurance hasn’t been a big problem since I graduated a year and a half ago, when the school insurance expired. I seem to be pretty healthy usually. But, sometimes I do worry about it. The really sad thing, though, is that I recently saw the movie Sicko. . . I’ve been living with some degree of fear and worry for the past 1.5 uninsured years, but I have always thought, well, someday I’ll get insurance again and then everything will be ok. Now I know that even with insurance you may still be completely screwed over (or outright murdered) by the HMOs. It made me so, so angry.
But, Sicko is a fantastic movie - I think everyone in this country needs to see it. ASAP.
