I love making Easter baskets for the kids. I like to give items that reflect spring to me like kites, jumps ropes, bubbles, flower seeds, sidewalk chalk... I also give books; they never go out of season. I put together 5 kick ass Easter baskets for my Scottie, Emma Lynn, Anicia, China and Ena. No cheap plastic toys the kids are going to break and throw away and everything that I purchased new was made in the USA or purchased second hand. I have Emma Lynn a four book set called "From the carrot Patch" all tied together in a pretty bow. Scottie got a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coloring book with crayons. Ena, China and Anicia got Cosmos and Bachelor Button flower seeds. All the baskets also have name brand good quality candy, bubbles and a stuffed animal.
I don't know what to do for Angelus this year, he is so little. Maybe a stuffed animal or new outfit?
I remember getting such beautiful Easter Sunday dresses on Easter morning from my Mom and Grandma Collester. I remember the fun Easter egg hunts with my Dad. I love dying eggs.
This year I may try dying eggs with onion peels and I've seen a bunny around the neighborhood so I'm gonna put out some carrots. Also Dad and Sylvia are putting on an Easter egg hunt this year, it should be a blast!
I also put together a new spring altar this year; I went with a vintage theme with cool pastel colors instead of bright pastels. Painted wooden features, a handmade basket from dried flowers and some candles I made myself last Candlemas.
