Rowan University - April 26, 2007

Apr 28, 2007 00:23

Since I had errands to run all over campus on Thursday, I took my trusty camera (that still needs a name) out of my bag and used it. There's 15 pictures total.

The Student Center

Savitz Hall - Registrar's office, Bursar's office, CAP center, & Admissions office are all in this building

The library and a shot of Route 322 which runs right through campus.

Robinson Hall - IMO it's tied for the ugliest building on campus. It's the home of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences so most of my classes are in this building. It's seriously stuck in the 70's and I want it to burn down so the school has to build a new CLAS building. I could go on and on about why I hate this building but this entry is boring enough.

The other ugliest building on campus, Wilson Hall. It's the home of the Music Department and the Law and Justice Department.

The newest academic building on campus, Education Hall. I have a class in this building and it's pretty nice. I'm kinda pissed that the Education majors got a new building, but I guess since Rowan considers itself a teching university it's only fair.

The second newest academic building on campus, Science Hall. Rowan is trying to estabilsh itself as a science university as well. Again, it's really nice in there and there's even a planetarium!

Rowan Hall, home of the College of Engineering. In the early 1990's, Henry Rowan donated $100 million to then Glassboro State College  (the largest donation ever to a public university) to start a College of Engineering. The school's name was changed to Rowan College in his honor, and then Rowan University in 1997. And there ends your Rowan University  history lesson.

So I made it across 322 (thankfully it wasn't rush hour or I would have never made it - 322 is pretty frickin busy sometimes) and I stumbled upon the townhomes. These were built in 2004 and were meant to encourage upperclassmen to live on campus. I would love to live there, but for this past school year, it would have cost $7788 to live in the townhouse and have a meal plan on campus. It honestly wouldn't be worth it for me to do that since I would be home every weekend, the food on campus BLOWS and I wouldn't take early classes.

Ah, Bunce Hall. This is the home of the College of Business. The commencement ceremony is also held here every spring. It freaks me out how much Bunce looks like my high school.

See! Rancocas Valley Regional High school, were I wasted spent 4 years of my life.

I hope you're all still awake after that, hahaha.
