I'm just going to boggle at my seeming inability to do anything normal, or expected. Except that's not true. Not true at all...anyway.
I don't like Elizabeth Swann. Not since the first time I saw the first movie and not since the second time I saw the second movie.
The thing is though, it's not because I don't like Keira Knightley as an actress, or anything like that. Or maybe it is, because I consistently don't like her characters, and for me in the recent Pride and Prejudice film, she was not Elizabeth Bennet, a bit like how Emma Watson if not Hermione for me in the Harry Potter movies.
Anyway, I've thought about this. A lot. Because I've been poking around, and reading a lot of other Pirates related posts and I don't get it. A lot of other people seem to like Elizabeth, and um, they can do that. Fine, but I don't know why, and I feel like I'm being left out, because I don't get it.
I really don't.
She's a spoiled, manipulative little brat. She may have spunk, and you know, be doing dangerous things, but the way she seems to be doing that is purely selfish, at least to me. And I just don't like her.
And you know what? That's okay.
I don't have to like her, and you don't have to dislike her.
So really, this was a pointless post.
So, I may be going to see Ben Elton on Friday night. With my mother. This is a recipe for disaster. I know it.
Anyone else, ever seen Ben Elton?
Also, where can one obtain Oscar the Grouch pyjama pants? Anyone know?
