Dear Lion Brand Yarn,
Normally, I adore you. I love the feel of Homespun, and I have many a skein rattling around my room, begging to be made into the softest scarves and hats. Fun Fur and I may have our differences, but I appreciate it.
I thought your MicroSpun would win me over - a soft microfiber in the most beautiful lilac, picked out by my mother to be her birthday socks.
I just knit a swatch, and 1) I don't think I can make socks and 2) Unless I'm experiencing nostalagia in the extreme, I'm not buying MicroSpun Ever. Again.
Knitting those ten stitches for ten rows was brutal. It shouldn't have been. My itsy-bitsy swatches are normally brainless activities that I zip through. Not this. The yarn wanted to unravel. My worries about elasticity grew by the second.
My mother does look good in hats, and I hope she'll accept a birthday hat in beautiful lilac.
But oh Dear God. I am not sure if I want to start this project. Her birthday isn't until late July ... I have my neice's hat. Yes, the neice's hat will be started first...
