Alright.
It's time.
Time to start the revolution!
So gather up your colored pencils and construction paper. Bullhorn. Iron fist. We're not going to take it anymore!
I don't understand. I hear the people getting mad. I see the words on the screen of people's malcontent. And yet, nothing changes. It just keeps getting worse and worse and our future bleaker and bleaker.
I got mad not only because hell has frozen over and California's gone Republican, but also because I just finished Stupid White Men last night. What do you think would happen if everyone in America was required to read that book?
Incidentally, it was a bestseller, right?
So where is the revolution?
How come people aren't mad as hell?
I have gotten some shit because I am currently an expat and people say 'that's so easy for YOU to say' when I get on my soapbox about the apathy and why no one is doing anything and how we are letting our country sell itself out because I am comfortably on the other side of the border hurling my criticism.
I know!
But still!
What about the future? Our children? Education becoming a marketing tool? SUVs as the mode of transport of choice? TVnation?
God that book depressed me to no end. But I guess that was the point.
It makes me upset to give up my expat status, but at least when I live in a state of the States I will have a senator and house rep to hassle and the right to do so.
Did you know that people convicted of a drug misdemeanor are ineligible for federal financial aid for college? forever? But convicted murderers can get it?
So wrong!
How do we start? Pick an issue? There are so many! I liked Moore's idea of merging the Democrats and the Republicans since they are so homogenous anyway, and fighting for the emergence of a true liberal party.
What do you say?
