You Know You're An 80's Child If....
  • Snap bracelets were always getting you in trouble at school.
    (Man, I had sooo many snap bracelets... and I remember when they actually got banned in school because kids were slapping one another with them.)
  • You played with "My Little Ponies".
    (I gave Zoie the last one that I kept from my childhood)
  • Friendship bracelets were ties that couldn't be broken. (All my friends were boys.. and they never liked stuff like that.)
  • You've ever read Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys, The Babysitters Club (Say Hello to your friends) ,or Sweet Valley High.
    (I was more of a BoxCar kid.)
  • You know all the words to "Ice Ice Baby".
    (Who the fuck doesnt? Shit. I remember my fat little ass trying to breakdance to it in the living room)
  • You wanted to be The Hulk for Halloween.
  • You had a crush on one of the New Kids on the Block members.
    (I had a nightshirt with Joey on it.)
  • You remember the New Kids On The Block.
  • You wanted to be on Star Search.
  • You had Garbage Pail trading cards
    (I dont think I came across those till the early 90's, but when I did I collected most of them.)
  • You can remember what Michael Jackson looked like before he had plastic
    surgery.
  • Heaven forbid you wore one of those t-shirt ring or a scrunchi on one side of your shirt during your youth.
    (AHH!! haha! Several months ago when I was packing up things to move I was going through some old boxes and I found one of my t-shirt rings that I had as a kid.. it was hot pink and in the shape of a flamingo!)
  • You were styling with your french rolled pants.
    (My Mom didnt let me wear pants that often.)
  • You wore multiple pairs ofsocks in the middle of the summer just so you could be "hip"
    (Scrunch socks were the shit, and yes I did WITH my dresses and sneakers.)
  • You had puff painted your own shirt at least once.
    (This one made me laugh the hardest.. One year for Fathers Day I decided that I was going to make my Daddy a pair of underwear with the words "#1 DAD!" written on them in flourescent puff paint. Well, I did and he kept those undies for many many years.)
  • You owned a doll with 'Xavier Roberts' signed on it's butt. Cabbage Patch Kids!
    (My sister and I both had a Cabbage Patch doll with the 'real'  hair instead of the yarn.)
  • You knew what Willis was "talkin' 'bout."
  • You know the profound meaning of "Waxon, Waxoff"
  • You were upset when She-ra, PrincessofPower, and He-Man cancelled.
    (I had He-Man and She-ra dolls that I played with in the bath tub nearly every day.)
  • You can remember watching FullHouse and Saved by the Bell for endlesshours ,back when they were new episodes.
  • You have seen at least 10 episodes of Fraggle Rock.
  • You hold a special place in your heart for "Back to the Future."
  • You know where to go if you "wanna go where everybody knows your name."
  • You wanted to be a Goonie. ("Goonies never say die.")
  • You remember Madonna in her cone stage.
  • You knew "The Artist" when he was humbly called "Prince."
    (I had quite a crush on Prince for a while.)
  • You even wore flourescent-neon clothing...
  • You could breakdance, or wished you could.
  • You remember when ATARI was a state of the art video game system.
  • You remember M.C. Hammer.
  • You can still sing the rap to "Fresh Prince of Bel Air".
  • How many of you can recite the theme to Ducktales?
    (I remember the intro quite vividly.)
  • You own any cassettes.
  • You owned a pair of L.A. Gear, Keds, or Converse tennis shoes.
    (L.A. Gear shoes were the shit.. and so were the kind that lit up when you walked.)
  • You carried your lunch to school in a Gremlins or an ET lunch box.
  • You have ever pondered why Smurfette was the ONLY female smurf. (And how come Baby Smurf never grew up...)
  • My Little Pony, Gummy Bears, Transformers, You can't do that on Television, Noozles, KIDS Incorperated, Captian Kangroo,Double Dare, and Hey Dude are familiar to you.
    (I LOVED the My Little Pony cartoon. In fact I still have the Ice Princess tape in out collection. Hey Dude was another favorite.)
  • You ever had a Swatch Watch or a Doonie and Burke
  • You actually spent countless hours trying to perfect the "Care Bear stare". (there is nothing wrong with that!!!!)
    (HA! We used to stand in a circle with our bellies poke out pretending.)
  • You had Wonder Woman or Superman underoos. (you know it!;)
  • You thought that Transformers were more than meets the eye.
  • You spent hours in the basement building and re-building Legocities.
    (I loved, and sitll LOVE Leggos. Wooden blocks were another favorite of mine as well.)
  • Do Polly Pockets or Popples ring a bell?
    (I had Popples underwear.)
  • Big wheels and bicycles with streamers were the way to go.
  • With your play school record player you sang backup to Debbie Gibson.
  • "Party like it's 1999" seemed SO faraway!!
    (HA!)
  • You stayed up all night listening to Teddy Rupskin
    (I learned to read with my Teddy Ruxpin. I still have quite a few of the story books that came with him. This was my FAVORITE toy growing up as a child.)
  • Can we say Trapper Keeper?
  • Can you tell you how to get to Sesame Street?
  • If you wanted to be on the GLADIATORS!!!
    (I always thought they looked funny as hell battling it out with those oversized q-tips.)
  • If you still have a crimper in your bathroom drawer
    (Ahhh! hahaha! Guilty.)
  • If you remember singing Amy Grants "Baby,Baby"
  • You owned a indiana jones hat
  • You had more than one Star Wars action figure
  • You loved your pink jeans, black stretch pant sand big loop earrings
    (I'm still a sucker for big tacky earings.)
  • If you wanted to pick a lock with a tooth brush just like MacGyver
  • You wanted to travel through time on Quantum Leap
  • You had at least one Hyper color shirt
    (I have a school picture taken with me in a Hyper Color t-shirt.)
  • If you remember when roller blades were the new thing
  • If you learned how to spell mouse from the Mickey Mouse Club theme song.
  • You felt like a big girl when your mom bought you GIRL TALK
  • You used to wear bright pink slip-ons and jelly shoes
    (I had Jellies in every glittery color of the rainbow. I loved the clicky sound they made when I walked.)
  • You used to compare your little brother to Ferguson
  • You were scared of the Gremlins
    (This movie traumatized me.)
  • You remember when Ren and Stimpy was a new show
  • Your parents wouldn't let you watch The Simpsons because it was inappropriate
  • The Wonder Years was apart of your daily lifestyle
  • You had Hot wheel races down your street during the block party
  • When MTV was all about Rock Hard videos and BIG hair (first aired in 1981!!!)
  • Pee Wee's Play House...Rainbow Brite...Fanny Packs(need I say more...:)
    (I'm a fan of all of the above.)
  • If you can remember when you're "KidSister, KidSister" seemed so tall...
    (I remember MyBuddy My Buddy, MyBuddy MyBuddy... MyBuddy and me...)
  • Did you keep your hot pink lipstick in a caboodle?
    (YES!)
  • You could not get enough hairspray on those bangs?
    (The wave? Ahem. I was stylin like a mu fugga.)
  • How many trolls did you have?
    (I had a SHIT load. I remember my favorite was the wedding set one.)
  • Does "Heros in a half shell" mean any thing to you (TURTLE POWER)
    (Another of my favorite childhood shows. Peter battled with me on the Nintendo video game quite a few times and whooped my ass.)
  • Everything was rad, totally awesome, and tubular!!!
    (I still say rad quite often.)
