You know, at first I couldn't figure out why I was really not into the Shayid, considering that I love both of the characters. Part of it has to do with the fact that I've become a pretty big Shannon/Boone shipper, but I consider myself to be relatively open minded when it comes to this show.

The thing is, the Lost writers have got the formula down in terms of their character's relationships. You take two people, have them swap a few life stories, maybe one of them cries about something, and then there you go. They've officially bonded and possibly formed an attraction to one another
