Friday night drunk post
Hello, it's me. I don't have an idea in mind for this post, nor a clear idea why I'm here at all, but I seem to recall that being traditional for LJ. And I'm full of wine, also traditional. Mainly, I just want to create sentences.

Musical oddity
Still listless, still have all the open tabs, but I've also been completely obsessed with Broods. Bought both their albums, CDs in the car and rips on the phone.
A rough tally tells me I listened to "Couldn't Believe" at least fifteen times today, and probably over twenty. (I went through the same thing with "Free" a couple of weeks ago.) I may ( Read more... ) -
Listless
I started a new job back in the beginning of May. I don't want to talk about that yet.
What's happening is, it's kicking my ass. I am listless all the time. I don't read any more. I certainly don't write.
I have at least seven tabs open with new music I've been meaning to listen to, because I don't hear new music in day-to-day life any more. ( Read more... ) -
On craftsmanship and effective value, and, eventually, the death of the rural economy

My father has been a hobbyist woodworker all my life. Now that he's retired, he finally has a nice shop set up in the basement with a lot of space. Most of his tools are fairly good, as many of them are hand-me-downs (hand-me-ups?) from my brother-in-law, who does woodwork professionally. I don't think I've seen a single thing from SS17 collections that I liked. Of course, all those designs were completed before the new year, so that's another disappointment we can lay at the feet of 2016.

Friendship and the lifestyle hermit
I seem to have a new friend. Or I'm forming a new friendship, maybe? Something like that. Writing for friends vs. neurosis: fight!
What happened to make me anxious and insecure about my writing? I've been putting off an email to a friend for over a week. It's not because I don't want to write her, nor do I intend to write anything difficult or awkward.
