So it's nice and quiet here (if strangely warm-in the mid-60°s). I've been able to avoid the hellish trip to Texas that took my parents over two days with stopovers in Knoxville and Shreveport. I like being on my own. I got to open my presents before they left.

He tells me all the time that he isn't artistic. But he draws furniture blueprints and does these wood carvings with mainly a pocket knife and a chisel. I don't know how many times he's carved these patches...
