Kitty! Ooh... not a kitty.

We caught a baby ring-tailed cat at work today. It was pretty exciting, because we were just going about our business as usual when a customer tapped one of us on the shoulder and said "Hey, something small and furry with a raccoon tail just ran behind that fish tank!". Rhonda caught it in a towel and decided to take it home to bottle feed. It was adorable, like a little pointy-faced kitten. Speculation abounded as to how it got into Amazonia. Some of us thought someone dropped it off (either on purpose or by accident), while Al the electrician suggested that there might be a family of them living in the ceiling (oh, good). I had no idea that we had anything like this living in Texas - apparently they keep out of cities. Here's what they look like, for anyone else who'd never seen one before:

Work was pretty busy today. One of my coworkers didn't show up at all - it turned out she hadn't realized she was on the schedule, and so she went to Lake Travis to party. When we finally got ahold of her, she told us she'd come in, but later called back to say she was too drunk to drive, so we had to call in a succession of three people to cover her ass. I get so pissed when people pull crap like that, because when Rhonda took the baby ringo home, it left me and a girl who was supposed to be home sick manning the store all by ourselves for the worst rush of the day. Does everyone turn into an idiot when they turn 21? I mean, it's always the older workers who are coming to work stoned or drunk or calling in sick because they were out all night partying, but then they turn around and condescend to the rest of us about how young and innocent and naive we are, like showing up when you're supposed to and doing the job you're being paid to do is somehow incredibly juvenile. Grump grump grump...
Saw the Simpsons Movie last night. I enjoyed it, but thought it was a little too rushed and manic. A little disappointing, but I got some great pictures of my friends shopping for candy at the dollar store next to CiCi's Pizza. This is my favorite:

Oh, that crazy Jessica.

There might be a Seaworld trip in the making for early this week, but it would mean giving up Harrison's hard-gained haircut appointment. Meh.... why did it have to be on Kendall's only free day? Why did her only free day have to be on the day of a haircut that had to be scheduled two weeks in advance??? Why is it so hard to make a hippie get a haircut?!?!?! AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
And just because I want to show off the cuteness that is my baby cousins, here are their pictures. In descending order of age:

Lily, 6. The Wisconsin family thinks we share a resemblance :)

Rose, 3, and Hermes the rex cat, old.

And.... Squishy - or Daphne, as her parents call her - 7 months.

Mah cousins are teh cute!!!
