If the weather persons insist on giving winter temperatures in wind chill amounts, instead of ambient, I demand snowfall be given in hubcaps. It is only fair, and just as confusing.

Post 2001, a blog oddity.

Racing the winter. I'm sure in a couple weeks or so, winter will be here with a vengeance.
Have to stow a few things in the garden.
Dakota, done. It's 4WD, and will be the prime means of transportation.

Yesterday, I baled hay at Farmer Bob's. He got a couple new spring steel thingies for the knotter in the baler, and it tied bales flawlessly all day. Couple that with the new bearings in the eccentric crank, it performs like a new one. And the squat IH 2400 hydrostatic tractor makes baling a relaxing drive in the field. Okay, it's not a John Deere. At the moment, I don't have the $1500 a new one would cost to replace the old one I had for 29 years.
