[Entrance to the Basement]

Jan 05, 2009 23:40

[Written on Day 35 after speaking with Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan would have been familiar with some of this from the conversation in Magnus Park but some of this is also his personal thoughts]

Things are settled: the basement it is.

Because there is the possibility other Jedi might need this information in case anything happens, I will repeat it: the entrance to the basement is in the kitchen, in the large walk-in refrigeration unit. Also of importance is the red lightsaber I told you about, Obi-Wan. We know Sith are out there, especially after the encounter on Naboo; the question, then, is if that lightsaber belonged to one and if both Sith are dead. Considering the threat Martin Landel presents, I am no longer sure if the Sith are our greatest concern.

I don't know what we will face in the basement. The test will require some kind of unknown sacrifice, that much we know for certain. Obi-Wan, I know that whatever we will be up against, you will succeed, as you always have: the way has not been easy for you, from being the young boy I took as my Padawan on Bandomeer to becoming the man you are now. It will not be any easier. Not now, not in the future. But I have faith in you.

I know you will be able to face these new trials, and the questions and tasks they might ask of you. I might not be your Master anymore, but I will be standing at your side.

[There's a dot on the paper as if Qui-Gon debated adding more, perhaps of a more personal nature, and then decided against it]
