You shall go to the ball...again
Went to a 'ball' yesterday held by rotaract. Was very pleasant. I met some of varno and pm's friends and hopefully didn't terrify them too much, oh yes and I managed to get red wine on varno and pm. Oops. I feel worse about PM on account of she glares more and she didn't have red wine stains before that point. The only thing missing from the evening was a better band and more dancing. I would have danced to this band more too if anyone had been willing, we did dance a little bit but not much. And the boyfriend of varno's friend was very kind and did dance with me once. Didn't really work very well as apparently one has to look your partner in the eye and I just don't do that. I also as per usual after several glasses of wine hugged people generally too much.
In other amusing news, you may remember I met dateboy at the clearing up of the adventure playground, well at the same time I also met this other guy from his club who I knew vaguely as a former president of that club. So anyway I'm walking back from the dance floor to where everyone is standing round outside and I pass this other guy. He does his impression of Joey from Friends "Hi QR". And I'm amused and smile back and carry on walking I have to admit with a slight swagger. Well anyway later he comes directly up to our party which is a long way from where he was hanging out and says 'Hello'. So I say hello back to him but he doesn't say anything more so after a moment I slightly shift my position towards the rest of my party and he walks off. Was quite amusing. OK OK, PM I know THAT split in the skirt of the dress was pretty durn high but still. Amusante n'est pas? It's always nice to be appreciated altho am a tad baffled by these men who don't seem to realise that silence is not completely death defyingly sexy. A conversation is necessary, that and a reduction in his %age sportif-ness. At least that's how *I* remember him. Nice, mildly dim but rather sporty and working in leisure industry.
Still baffled by dateboy incidentally. Am no longer angry. Clearly he's just cut from the same mould as my ex planecrasher. That being so I'm sad, and I feel a slight obligation to him considering he told me some quite personal stuff on our date but I'm not sure if I can be bothered to hassle him further to ask what on earth is going on. I'd like to know just not sure he'd tell me. Pity I never see him online any more.
I'm tempted to describe natter on about PM and varno's friends but I think I might be pushing it a bit!! The short but also honest answer is that I really liked all four of them. They were tres jolie. Not sure where all this french is coming from... no wait...is from the book I was rereading with its pseudo medieval french setting - Kushiel's Avatar by Jacqueline Carey.
I've caved and bought Dixie Chicks Long way home. Am still dying to buy some other CDs but I'm resisting thus far.
In other amusing news hr and danceswithwaitresses HAVE bought the house once occupied by some close family friends of ours. It's a very surreal experience to know this!! I stopped off briefly at their house on the way home.
Anyhoo not really a thrilling post random boy thinks QR is attractive, QR gets drunk and spills stuff.. I'm thinking I've written this post before.
