Because I had a business trip in Indiana only about 16 hours after the close of Madrigal, I didn't get much of an opportunity till now to do a bit of recap of my Madrigal event. Here are my highlights:
- Getting to actually hear Grum read one paragraph of Queen Calanthia's Seneschal's letter aloud to Vanora and Sasha in the Wayfare Tavern before my completely-unrelated-NPC began her business with another PC.
- Teaching a skill to a PC for the first time EVER. I'm glad it got good reviews from the PC whom it was aimed at. Thank goodness for spontaneous prop-related inspiration.
- Running the Fae Games on Saturday afternoon with Sharon, a LARP veteran, who graciously prepared her Unseelie Vixen against my Seelie Fae, Snowdrop. It was Thursday that I decided I needed as many games involving water as I could get, seeing that the temperatures/humidity was oppressive. I'm glad the PCs were game to toss "bladders" of water at each other and generally enjoy themselves and a bit of water-related hijinx at the Games.
- Playing Snowdrop, in general. It's like letting my "inner-child-of-wonder" have complete reign over my actions. Innocent, flighty, and yet caring for the Gifted.
- Surprising Sophia with a challenge that she could do, even in her non-combat state, proving that Seelie ain't just Glitter.
- Being able to legitimately spend some times at the Grum's Company cabin during mealtime with my Druid NPC.
- Playing a serpentine temple-guardian late Saturday Night, undulating and moving snake-like, even at rest. I blame Lori for getting me in the mood with the music.
- Being served cinnamon tea by Zephyr as I was waiting to have a conversation with a PC. (Bren loves cinnamon tea!)
- Finally, finally getting the Nexus-Alarm stuff off to a start. This was a plotline that I started with as a regular NPC over a year ago, and then took over quite recently as Madrigal plotstaff.
- "Archer Duels" as an NPC archer from the 5th Sigil with PCs.
