Hey y'all, you haven't heard from me before, I don't think, but I am embarking on my transitional journey after years of agonizing about it. I'd love to hear from any FtMs who can offer surgical advice or experiences. If anyone needs a frame of reference, the chronicling of my journey can be found in my regular LJ, the bulk of it starting in November. I think most if not all the entries pertaining to this show up on the first page of my journal.
The following is the latest in my obstacles. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.
Thanks!

A RESPONSE FROM DR. BROWSTEIN REGARDING MY UPPER SURGERY
Stevie:
There is no breast operation that will guarantee sensation. Given your
description, you are not a good candidate for keyhole. Any procedure that
preserves enough tissue to improve the chance for erotic sensation would, in
my estimation, leave too much breast tissue behind to really achieve the
right appearance. That is why I recommend the double incision operation for
those patients not suitable for keyhole.
We do not have a payment plan, but do have references to third party
companies that will finance procedures with credit.
The total of costs for the surgery comes to $7,550.
I am not currently scheduled for any meeting until the Harry Benjamin
meeting next April.
If you would like more detailed information, please provide a mailing
address and we will get it to you.
Regards,
Michael Brownstein
Strike one. I guess. I am intent on having a surgery that will maintain sensation in my chest... maybe if I lose enough weight, that in addition to the fat redistributing effects of the T will make 'em small enough for the surgery that does offer some hope of retaining erotic feeling.
