i'm a complete person now...
ok, so this totally feeds into our consumerist, materialistic society, but i feel like a complete person now. i feel like a tremendous burden has been lifted from my shoulders.
I GOT A CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!
yes, my very own car, that i purchased by myself with my got-damn hard-earned money. now, i did have quite a bit of help in the selection process. i'd like to give a shout-out to Kenichi, Billy Bowen, Brandi, Mark Scammell, my two roommates Todd and Ken. but still, i did the negotiations. i paid the money. i got the insurance myself. the title will be in my name, and i will get that and the registration done this week.
it's a 1989 Toyota Tercel. yeah, i know that's mad old, but it runs, and it's small and fuel-efficient, which was exactly what i was looking for. i would've preferred a 4-door to make it easier for my clients to get into the car, but oh well. it was cheap. beggars can't be too choosy. i got it on Craigslist.org, of course, b/c Craig'sList is THA SHIT. it was some Russian dude named Eduard.
so things are looking up for me. i can go to the Frontrunners (the LGBT running group) whenever i want. i went to a race this morning, had to wake up at 5:30 AM on a Sunday! that's earlier than i wake up for my job that i'm getting paid to wake up that early. i didn't actually run the race. i was considering it but then i found out it cost $25 and since i just spent a huge chunk on this car, i can't really justify that right now. but maybe the next one.
so that's my big update for now. work's busy. i got quite a bit of paperwork to do in the next two days, but after Tuesday it should be pretty smooth. oh, and Tuesday will be my two-month anniversiary of moving to Sacramento. and still not a single date! now, most people would think i'm depressed about that, but i'm happy! i'm decidedly single. so no use in tryin' to check up on it like Beyonce, no L-O-V-E for me like Ashlee.
