So all of the sudden I was smacked upside the head by my muse and I managed to finish a picture that I couldn't ever get past sketches before AND added about 4 pages to my long forgotten fanfic that I WILL make myself finish one of these days. I blame my sudden inspiration on the beautiful weather we have been finally getting up North here in good ( Read more... )

The amount of detail is phenominal. I really love it.

whoo! I was trying my best to add as much detail as I could muster... seems I did good. Thanks!

this really fantastic! the perspective is fine, i think, possibly except the floor (you got the tables right, but the floor, although very good, looks very static.) THE DETAILS ARE AMAZING! i love how you have so many characters in this piece. i love how the tables aren't neat - there are quills, and all sorts of potions equipment here. and the door with chain + sign reading 'no students' is awesome. THIS IS AN EXCEPTIONALLY WELL DONE PIECE. CONGRATS!

thank you ever so much! I will try to make the floor a little more exciting as I color it, any suggestions?

Wow. I love all the detail. I especially like the candlebra at the back, the equipment storage side-board thing, and the 'No Students' sign. Typical Snape.

Computer colouring might be the best way to get the sort of glow you'd want.

it is so typical Snape isn't it? haha I love that I somehow managed to draw a scene in the potions classroom and he's not in it! How'd I manage that??
I thought the candlebra added a nice extra Slytherin touch, thanks!

I am definitely coloring this in photoshop, i just need to figure out the best way to get the glowing look I want!

You did such an amazing job on this Queequegg! The excruciating detail and the PERSPECTIVE is just brilliant! Man I could learn a lot from you!I love the way you've drawn everything and everyone; it must have taken you AGES! I love the little fondue pot-like cauldrons, Ron's scruffy, patched robes, Parvati smirking behind the Trio, the snake candlelabras.... It's just astounding how much you put in to this...it really shows :D

As for crit, the only things that come to mind is the floor. I love the floor pattern of flagstones, but they're very prominent. You could lighten them up a little in PS, or it may not even be an issue once you've colored it.

The whole piece is just fantastic. Awesome job!

I really should thank you and hp_fringeartfor posting the background challenge or I probably would have copped out and just drawn the trio. I like making backgrounds once I get going, they just aren't as exciting as everything else. Plus, I feel I need more practice on people rather than objects, however... people interacting with objects is a whole different story... ;o)

Others have also commented on the floor, I had to put something there or I would have had a similar problem with "big blank space". Hopefully I will be able to mute the look of it once I get it colored, so as to draw less focus to it and push it to the background where it belongs!

They DO look like little fondue pots! heehee :o)
