When the stars go blue
I don't know if I like Blake Lewis all that much anymore. Alright, that's not entirely true, but I'm a little peeved at his performance from last week.
I was so excited that he picked When The Stars Go Blue. So excited. But then he had to go and say it's by Tim McGraw. No no no Blake. Bad move. I know that it was country week, but Ryan Adams is "alt" country, so he could have actually said it was Ryan Adams and not Tim McGraw. He also used Tim McGraw's shitty music arrangement. Gay. The beauty of the song is the vocal performance from Ryan (the way he sings the verses kills me dead), which I think Blake could have done had he actually known that it was just a shitty Tim McGraw cover. Way too much percussion too. I'm also ashamed that Martina McBride didn't seem to know at all that it was originally Ryan Adams.
