I survived week 1 of return to work... tired, sore, but alive. Some years that is a bigger accomplishment than others. This year, it's good. I've got a minion (aka student teacher) and a new department member who I have to help since he doesn't yet know the intricacies of the curriculum for this level. So, I'm a busy beaver in that regard...
bad news, though. Found out that a former student--a freshman in college this year--was killed Friday night in a car accident. I've heard several times that it was a drunk driver, but I'm not 100% sure of that. She was in my class in both 6th and 8th grades. She left behind a little one--approx 2 years old. Iz a very sad day!
