I survived the last week of school....without killing anyone.
actually, this week was probably the easiest of the year b/c I had very small classes... about 12 students per class period. The bulk of the students were released a week earlier as they had proven themselves via grades and attendance. However, the remaining students were the challenging ones who whine about everything and don't want to put forth any effort. I had a total of 18 students that needed to stay for me..due to grades.. and I got it down to 8 needing to stay for summer school. Those 8 refused to work...or their grades were sooo low they couldn't bring them up enough to pass. All of them were eligible for summer school in that they failed only 1 or 2 classes (at 3 classes they are retained). Although I don't see how some of them did that...
Next up--workshop on M-W of next week... then another the week after for 2 days... then another the week after for 4 days, I think...
I foresee much reading of brain candy novels in my future... at least when I'm awake.
