I'm sure she'll be allowed in. tasercopter July 12 2011, 00:57:49 UTC
[Reno is maybe a little bored, and maybe for that reason she has decided to knock on doors randomly, trying to find out who else is living in the building, and where exactly they are. She doesn't like not knowing things, and she does like finding things out.

She wouldn't care for someone to enter her floor without her permission, but Reno's not big on the Golden Rule. She raps on the door carelessly.]

Anybody in there?

oh yeah totally XD ebony_bone July 12 2011, 01:07:33 UTC
[She knew there were others in the building, that the apartments were slowly filling up, but seeking out neighbours hadn't been something they'd done back home, and it wasn't something Dominique had done here. Perhaps she would, given enough time, but it wasn't a priority in her mind at the moment.

She's frowning a little as she opens the door, wondering why someone would feel the need to both knock and call through.]

Yes?

The most trustworthy of neighbors! tasercopter July 12 2011, 02:20:38 UTC
[So there is somebody in there. Reno smiles as the door opens.]

Hey, neighbor, how's it going? Just thought I'd swing by. You know, be neighborly.

[She glances down at her hand. There's a bandage on it, as she's covering up that stupid wish heart thing. Ugh, that would teach her to go adventuring with Kitty. Pft, helping people.

More importantly, she is carrying some alcohol.] Brought you some beer. [Hey, weren't there six of those? Now there are only four. Oh, right.]

I see.

[The woman's timing is dreadful, really. If she'd chosen to come investigate the neighbours sooner, Jackie might have been able to deal with this, and Dominique wouldn't be quite so chilly. She looks down at the beer, noting that two are gone.]

Thank you, but we don't drink.

[Which wasn't entirely true. Jackie did, sometimes, but Dominique doubted she wanted any in her current state (and would worry if she did).]

Too bad. You're missing out. This is the best stuff you can get in my world. And you can't even get it there anymore. [Not since everything blew up. She points to her temple.] This is the only place you can find it now. [She leans up against the doorjamb, in a friendly if perhaps slightly invasive fashion.]

What's your name? Who else lives here? Got a girlfriend?

I'm sorry to hear it. [She's referring to the drink no longer being available, rather than the fact she's supposedly missing out. She assumes something must have happened in Reno's world - usually jumps to the worst conclusions on matters like that. It was what war left you with.]

I am Dominique. [She's content to give that, but she doesn't know if Jackie wants her name handed out freely, and the matter of having a girlfriend... that's more complicated than she's like to think on, right now.] I wasn't aware this was an interrogation.

Me too. At least that's one good thing about this place. I can wish up all the world's lost booze. [She's not too bothered by the refusal.] If you don't want any, that's more for me.

Name's Reno.

Oh, that's not how I run an interrogation. [She smiles.] Your info wouldn't benefit me any. Just making conversation. Not much to do around here, so I thought I'd pay some social calls.

[She's already tried to explain to Gabrielle that she cannot risk the loss of control alcohol induces. Gabrielle had not seemed to understand the depth of what she'd meant, continued to insist there was still control, that she was still in control. It wasn't a discussion Dominique particularly wanted to repeat.]

Please, enjoy it yourself.

[A slight tilt of her head.]

Reno. [Reno who did, it seemed, run interrogations at some point. Dominique had slowly become used to the idea of police forces, of the people in power meaning well, doing good, but she couldn't help the ingrained wariness that came from the idea of anything close to what Prevent did to people. Interrogations being one of them.]

I do live here with... my girlfriend.

[Such a strange term to use. And she hopes Jackie can't hear her. She was most definitely not letting Reno in to see her.]

Are you on your own?

I will. I always do. [She doesn't care in the least about having her offer not accepted. She'd thought someone might want some, but she won't hesitate to drink it herself instead. As she'd said, more for her--not that there's any limit on the alcohol one can dream up here.]

[Reno runs interrogations, but the two people who are capable of motivating her to do such work are absent, so it's only a theoretical practice in the Gardens. No one else can get her to do anything resembling actual, organized work.] Good for you. Fucking's one of the few worthwhile things to do around here.

No, I live with my partner and my Kitty. [It's maybe not the most clear answer, but Reno considers both Rude and Claire to be hers, in one way or another.]

[Dominique hasn't really met anyone quite that blunt in the Gardens, most restraining themselves to the same manner regarding sex as she'd encountered in the North. That it was to be hidden away, referred to in implications and euphemisms, and sexuality was never to be expressed. It wasn't how she grew up, and she's completely unfazed by Reno's manner, even if she doesn't necessarily agree with the sentiment.]

You have a cat?

[There were, obvious, many cats around the Gardens, but she hadn't heard of anyone actually keeping any here.]

Yeah. [Slight pause.] No, not exactly. She's a girl, but she's got--ears and paws and a tail, so she looks like a kitty. She's a kitty-person. [She is also Reno's, in Reno's opinion.] I don't do the whole "pets" thing.

So, what do you do around here for fun? [She's always looking for new ideas.]

[A very slight tilt of her head, trying to absorb the idea of a girl with cats ears, paws, and a tail. It sounds outlandish -- crazy, even, and she finds herself eyeing that beer Reno's drinking again. But she can't really judge the standards of normalcy in this place, and she hadn't really interacted with Reno enough to make any opinion upon her sanity.]

There is not much to do. I read, and watch the vine, and create objects with the dirt.

[She explored, and did basic training, as well, but that had lessened dramatically since Jackie's self-imposed isolation.]
