1st Lightning Strike [Video]

Jan 01, 2012 21:30

[Ky sits on the ground, looking earnestly at the Vine. She's at least externally calm (internally confused and annoyed) because no matter what this place is, she isn't going to stay here for long. She refuses.]

Excuse me?

[She presumes she's talking to some sort of video network, anyway. She hopes so, although trusting the cats on what ( Read more... )

You wait until the Queen gets bored with you. If it were easier than that, everyone would just leave.

What does the Queen gain by keeping us all captive when everyone wishes to leave?

She wants us to have an orgy, basically.

An...

[Ky sputters at the screen for a moment, and then her face goes stony.]

Excuse me, but I think I at least deserve honest answers.

[...Well. This is...somewhat unexpected.]

[She could be wrong. But... Between the uniform and the attitude, Sol has the sinking feeling she isn't. And, honestly, while this is something she should be prepared for after what had happened with Venom, it's a hell of a lot different when it's someone she has a much more significant relationship with. So, before she calls on the Vine to let her reply, she does a lot of staring.]

[When she finally does decide to answer - because, hell, this isn't really something she can just leave alone - it's only after she's spent a good deal of time deciding on the best way to approach the situation. An unusual amount of time, really. There's a very carefully composed opening in her head when she appears in the mirror...]

[...Not that is actually gets used, because, seriously, what the hell.]

...Ky?

[Ky stares for a while, but she can't place the woman as anyone she knows, even if there's something achingly familiar about her.]

That is me.

Am I expected?

[Her brow is wrinkled as she continues to try to place the other, but she doesn't have that long of a list of female acquaintances to run through before she finds that she still doesn't know who it could be.]

...Not exactly.

[Well, this is pretty awkward. Sol rubs the back of her neck, at something of a loss now that she's botched her glorious opening strategy.]

...You don't recognize me.

[It's not a question.]

It's true, I don't.

[Ky's starting to feel pretty confused.]

I feel like I should.

I haven't been here before, have I?

[Except it's not the place that feels familiar, just the woman.]

[This isn't your fault, really, Ky, but Austria looks pissed from your statement.]

Of course there is a way back, but that doesn't mean it can be accessed at will or that anyone knows what it is. It simply can't be found. People just vanish out of nowhere. You are not allowed to choose whether you leave or not. If that option was available, I would be long gone. I'd certainly have followed them out of this whole mess.

If there's a way out, then there has to be a way to find it.

I cannot simply stay here, but I'll talk to the...Queen, if that's what's necessary. I have responsibilities that I need to return to my world to fulfil.

The "Queen" doesn't care whether or not you have pressing matters at home. You are trapped here until her whims change and she tires of you. You will not be the first one to search for the exit, and you will not be the last to fail.

I'm certain that I don't agree that the Queen is in ultimate charge of my destiny.

And my duty elsewhere is surely more important than her whims.

... Ihihi. I like your attitude. I haven't accepted that there's no way out of this crazy place myself just yet.

I take it that fact that you're still here means you haven't found that way...

Well, I'm certain with concerted effort we'll be able to make some progress. We have to.

I like the way you think. ... Now that I think about it... They say that two brains are better then one, don't they?

And 'where there's a will there's a way'.

[ And other things, but those wouldn't be proving Ky's point. ]

Nobody knows how to get out yet, though! [She frowns.]

If we did, mosht of ush would be out by now, I think...

Perhaps a more concerted effort amongst all of us would be more effective. It often is, as opposed to everyone working at odds with each other.
