[She starts but doesn't turn around. THERE ARE KOOPAS TO STOMP.] Mario. Well, "Maria" here, but it's really Mario. It's something from my- argh where did that even come from?!

[Zenobia laughs playfully.] It looks kinda hard. Hmm... there's another... um... square... thing. [She points to the second controller.] What's that one for?

Also, it seems like it's been forever since I've seen you. How are you doing?

Luigi. Uh, that is, the other player. I can start over, if you want to try.

[She pauses the game and turns around.] Keeping busy.

[After an uncertain pause and checking for any eavesdroppers:] Trying to distract myself.

[Aigis hasn't been in the arcade before. She enters and looks around, before walking towards Jessica.] This is a device meant for recreation, correct?

[That voice isn't familiar. She glances over as the level ends. Then gives the intruder a once-over. That's new.] Yeah. Super Mario Brothers.

Pretty much everything in here's supposed to be for recreation.

[Amamiya was a Super Mario 64 kid, having been born in 1994. If she'd had older siblings or cousins she'd perhaps have played some of the SNES titles, but she had neither. And, never being huge on video games even as a young girl, she'd only ever known Mario as a third-person platformer, not a 2D sidescroller. So she doesn't actually know what she's looking at.]

I don't think I've seen this one before. It looks pretty fun.

Of course. I've already played all these to death long ago. Now it's just nostalgia. [She leans forward to hit the reset]

Oh, video games? Is that what they're called? I was fiddling around with some of them. They're pretty neat. I haven't been able to figure out how they work, though--people would probably get upset if I took them apart. [but she'd be able to put them back together again, really...]

Honestly, I don't think taking these apart would help you figure it out... most of the machinery here is all cartoony and impossible. I know the basic idea behind a lot of it, but...
