[It is quite a dark and stormy night afternoon outside, as anyone in the Gardens probably has picked up by now. Homura certainly picked up on it quickly; the winds alone are just a little reminder of some rather darker days in her past

She hasn't seen a storm of this magnitude in a very long time, and it was safe to say she'd been ill-prepared for this one. Without preamble, she sits down on the lobby floor, removes her jacket, and begins the (at this point, fruitless) task of wringing it out.]
G-geez...this thing is gonna be ruined.

There's nothing that makes girls around her age any easier to talk to, as her personal history has well proved, but the thought lingers that if things had been different, if they had lived on different worlds or even parts of the same, maybe they would have been classmates, or even friends. And seeing another girl so waterlogged like this, she wants to be able to help.]

Um, we're just upstairs this way... [She starts to lead the way, making sure Utena follows.] We have a bunch of towels upstairs too. I probably should have brought some down here...

I'm living with...um, my friend from home, Madoka Kaname.
Are you in high school? Junior high?

I'm in junior high, but...oi, I bet I've missed so much school...

I'm a second year in junior high. Or I was before coming here. [But education, as useful as it was in the real world, was not so much a priority in her generally peaceful life here.]
