I wish to understand this place better, so I can discover how to escape it and return home. [Although she is sure this channel is being monitored, for all she knows, all of their words are being monitored, and she thinks it is most important to communicate with others at this point.] How can I do that without research?

The Vine particularly interests me, because it has a sort of intelligence, yet appears to have been designed with a purpose in mind. Also, it is integral to the organization of this place, such as it is.

From what I've gathered, the Vine is simply a way for the residents to communicate with one another. If it has a secondary use, I've not seen it.

And the way this place is, I wouldn't be surprised if we're being watched.

I am not interested in the Vine's secondary use so much as its sentience and what its design might tell us about our captor.

I don't doubt we are being monitored. I make no secret of my intentions. I can learn nothing without speaking to others, so it is a necessary evil at this time.

Considering my situation before I came here, I'm somewhat grateful that I was brought here. Even I did not expect such a path would be opened to me.

Still, I am willing to help with investigating the place. I would like to learn more about it, and I would like to help others find their way home.

[She brightens, sharing this curiosity.] I'm quite interested in the animals myself. They are highly intelligent and capable of understanding complex queries and commands.

Also, as I mentioned, the snakes can create or approximate a substance from my world which cannot ordinarily be manufactured synthetically. They seemed to sense what I needed without being asked.
