College is really fun
^ my dorm with deanna and jimmy singing songs in it
I wish I had more recent pictures from that to post, but I've been without a camera for a month.
What I have done so far:
- Decided to double major in psychology and film with a minor in music (so yeah, i'll never graduate)
- Landed a research position (as an UNDERGRAD! WOO!) under Dr. Reiko
for cognitive neuroscience where I will actually be working with test
subjects and designing part of one of the smaller experiments myself
(and lots of data collecting and writing). We're dealing with cardiac
reactivity specifically, and baisically what the brain can do to the
body (as in, how thoughts you think will affect you physically--like
placebos can make people think they're not experiencing any pain at
all) It's really interesting, and I get to present with the professors
and other assistants at the CNS conference in 2007, when the research
will have been concluded.
- Founded the Texas State Film Production Team!
Woo! and we actually have our own room with 4 G5 macs. This semester is
just fundraising though, so we can afford quality equipment. more on
that later
- Climbed a tree near the quad, and it was awesome.
- Pulled an all nighter studying at the "All Nighter Diner", a cafe
that somehow knows exactly what college kids need when they have too
much work to do.
- Watched some kids smoke pot for the first time ever. And I freaked
out, thus spoiling all the fun for everyone. "But what if a cop comes??
Ahh! I'm leaving!"
- Went to a Texas State football game, those things are so fun. There's
these guys that lead the chants, and we pick out certain players and
make up chants about them. "Aw don't worry #77! You've still got Jack
Rabbit Spirit!" (we played north dakota state, the jack rabbits)
Sometimes Texas State kids somehow manage to get their hands on the
roster list from the opposing team and we use names. "Joey! Put your
helmet on! The coach is gonna send you in!" Its really funny. My
favorite part is that we know they can hear us because the chant
leaders have megaphones, yussssssssss.
How's McNeil these days? Anyone still raising a ruckus over there?
