Cross My Soul by ecarian: (Derek/Stiles, Teen Wolf). DAEMON!AU! I really enjoyed what the author did with this world, and the daemon choices felt spot-on to me.
The Flogging Profession by toft: (Jack Aubrey/Stephen Maturin, Master & Commander). In the dozens of times I watched M&C and idly wished for slash fic, I never ever dreamed it actually has a fandom. AND SUCH GOOD WRITERS. Writers who have obviously taken quite a lot of care to present their works accurately, historically speaking, even when they involve sexytimes flogging. (I'm easily squicked by painplay and this fic wasn't at all a problem for me because everyone stayed so in character, I just, yes, SO GOOD.)
More Certain in Affection by Keiko Kirin: (Jack Aubrey/Stephen Maturin, Master & Commander). In which Jack accidentally stumbles into Stephen's, erm, gentleman's club. For gentlemans. Have I mentioned how much I love that it's book canon that they call each other "joy?"
Patience, a Steady Hand by helenish: (Arthur/Eames, Inception). VIKING AU. Read the warnings, understand the inherent viking part of a viking au. I love the feel of fics where the author has done their research, and this one rang true for me without any real knowledge of the time period. ALSO, it resolved BEAUTIFULLY, with a symmetry I loved and didn't expect.
