I'll do a ficrec list soon--if not today then definitely tomorrow before the tabs collapse and crush me like a bug. And I wasn't going to do a Year In Review because I know it...hasn't been a great year, but then kellifer_fic did this and it looked like fun! SO!
Total number of fics: 9 (....9??? jfc I just checked and it really is 9, not counting hopeless little drabbles. oh my god and one of them was COWRITTEN)
Total wordcount: 32,282 (christ most bigbangs are bigger than this. MY bigbang was bigger than this)
Total number of fandoms: 8 fandoms I've written in, but let's face it I've joined ALL THE FANDOMS this year
My favorite story of mine this year: Probably Without Beauty, actually. It's nothing that I'd ever tried writing before--het gen preslash fic??--but I feel really solid about the voices and characterization, and it was just SO MUCH FUN to write. (Usually I get a fic idea, make a good amount of progress, then fail at it for over a week. This one was cranked out in a day, like it was falling right out of my head.)
My best story: My BEST story? Eurgh. Um. Idk.
Story most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion: Oh man, like. I am always SO SO grateful for any attention paid to my fics, but...maybe Mo Tràill, Mo Cridhe? A HUGE part of it was me not knowing where to pimp it, and another big part was the writing, I think? It's hard to write in that style without breaking out the block paragraphs, which aren't super visually appealing to online readers. (I tried to rewrite the beginning so many times to get around that and just couldn't.) BUT ONCE I WAS POINTED IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION RE: WHERE TO POST THIS FIC, IT GOT ALL THE LOVE I COULD'VE HOPED FOR AND THEN SOME
Most fun story: Snips and Snails and Fuzzy Blue Whales, haha. I can't really take the credit for this one because 95% of it was actually written by leupagus, but I had so much fun plotting it out on tumblr with her via reblogs.
Most sexy story: I Just Want to Mean Something to You, probably. (idk an arguement could be made for the recen spn_j2_xmas fic, but I think the writing is better in this one)
"Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story: You mean other than the British comedian RPF? THIS WAS A REALLY TAME YEAR IN MORE THAN JUST WORD COUNT.
Story with single sexiest moment: I really like the part in I Just Want to Mean Something to You where Tom is standing and he keeps his hands above his head while Joe strips him. The original draft of this story was reeeeeally d/s-y in a way that didn't mesh with the rest of the 'verse, so I wound up changing a lot of it--but I kept that moment because it felt very sexy and vulnerable in a way that Tom needed to be at the time.
Story with single sweetest moment: Haha, I don't know, I feel like Holly, Ivy, Mistletoe was an incredibly indulgent silly fic, but maybe the part where Sam realized Dean is still wearing the amulet, and Dean says, "Of course, you gave it to me for Christmas."
Most unintentionally *telling* story: a bit of wreck in the midatlantic. This is whyyyy you don't write fic immediately after writing a 12 page essay about Bartleby the Scrivener.
Fic that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: Maybe i loosen my tie, i loosen my tie--I realize now that Harvey and Mike would both do very well in the hunger games.
Biggest disappointment: my...self?
Biggest surprise: that the teen wolf fic i cranked out in a day (Pocket in My Heart (For Your Love)) for tombolguid's birthday would get BY FAR the biggest number of hits, comments, and kudos. (this just annoys me more than anything; even though I understand this fandom is very much the In Thing, the fic was nothing that special)
Hardest story to write:
I have a lot of fics I didn't finish, or haven't yet. Over 10k of Suits fic, more like 12k of XM:FC fic, etc. Those are the hardest.
Easiest story to write: Without Beauty. kslakdf i really love this ridiculous thing.

In New Years News, I am hiding from several sets of friends and staying home tonight to drink Pina Coladas and eat pelmenis with my family. I'm not a club/dancing person, I get overprotective of short people when I drink, and I would be too stressed out to have fun. Also I just want to sleep, sleeping sounds fun.
BUT TO BE OPTIMISTIC ABOUT UPCOMING FICS: I have one Leverage fic in the works and one about threesome incestuous dwarf porn. SO!
