....I think there SHOULD BE fic of this, if there isn't already. Okay, let's say they're around the same age, maybe Danny is a sophmore, Steve is a Junior. They're both jocks, but Danny's alllll about baseball, man, and he's loud and popular for all that he's still fiesty and somewhat abrasive, and Steve's a football guy, kind of quiet and sad, keeps to himself, but they have the same gym class and there's just something about this guy that Danny fixates on. All the girls are like ooooo Steve how is Hawaiiiiii and Danny can tell it's making the guy uncomfortable, all the touching, so he extricates Steve and tries to take Steve under his wing, but Steve is all "No, thanks," and shrugs away from him.

But anyone will tell you Danny is not a guy to say no to, not because he's a asshole but because he's always got your best interests at heart, so he starts plopping down at Steve's table at lunch and stopping to talk to the guy by his locker and picking Steve on his team when they play dodge ball and even jumping in front of Steve when a ball goes rogue and flies at Steve's face. Danny's out, of course, but he doesn't feel out when Steve looks him in the eye for the first time, like "Why would anyone do that?" And Danny grins, chest all puffed out, and it kind of makes Steve smile too, and damn, the boy has dimples.

And after some understandable but mild gay freak out, they have sex under the bleachers during cheerleading practice, and it's AWESOME.

Eeee~! YES! Can Steve's low opinion of Jersey show up too? So Danny makes it a mission to prove to Steve that Jersey is better than silly, sunny Hawaii and maybe it turns into a role reversal where Steve's the one putting postcards of Hawaii into, I dunno, Danny's locker? Cos for some reason I can totally see Steve taking over Danny's locker. Maybe Danny doesn't have his own car yet.
