In which Best Buy is still not Chuck, and Stella is a dirty trollop

Finally got through to Batteries Plus on the advice of the decidedly non-Chuck-esque at Best Buy after their creepy Stella-probing, and hallelujah! They had one in stock! THE ODDS. So i hopped in the car, navigated the winding roads of Palin Land, and forked over $102 for a new battery.

Drove back home, plugged it in, and Stella...still...died.

That's sort of supposed to happen, but I forget exactly what you're supposed to do to make it go through that stuff automatically.

Ugh, the mysteries of blank discs are vast. Seriously, it's like 2/3 of the blanks I try are unusable for some unknowable reason (probably the reason is that I get the cheap kind, but still, what the hell). Hope something works for you eventually.

Thanks! I do try to put some effort into it. I just finished listening to FayJay's reading of Tissue of Silver, and uggggggh, I always forget how awesome that fic is. You've totally sent me back into a Harry/Draco phase, damn you.

ON A RELATED NOTE, just to check, I went and reread some of the sequels and they were all perfectly readable and not horrible at all, I have no idea why I remembered them leaving a sour taste in my mouth. I skipped over Green Means Go, just because that one was labeled as extra angsty, so maybe I read that? But Famous For Their Discord and Seeing The Light are both really good and shouldn't be missed. SORRY.

Have you listened to Penny's reading of Reparo? I'm still not done with it--there's only so much time in a girl's schedule to curl up with her ipod for hours without her folks asking if she came back from Scotland emo--but Penny's always aMAZING (even if she doesn't see it herself. *glares*)

It's kind of creepy that you mention Reparo because that was literally the next thing I put on after I finished Tissue of Silver. I listened to most of it, but when the, uhm, twist toward the end happened, I had to give up and start reading because even though I'd already read it when that BB was first released, my heart was in my throat and I just had to speed-read get to the happy ending.
