Okay, anyone who can figure this out gets like 20,000 cookies!
Last year, Erik borrowed $600.00 from me.
He has since paid me $200.00.
At this point in time in this scenario, Erik owes me a remainder of $400.00.
Erik and I decide that we are going to fly to Texas for his sister's wedding. Erik decides that in order to knock off some of the money he owes me, he will pay for my plane ticket to Texas and that money will go toward his $400.00 debt with me.
The tickets come to $330 together, $165.00 each.
Because of unavoidable circumstances, Erik does not receive his check in time to pay for either of our plane tickets. Instead, I end up paying the $330.00 for both of our tickets.
While we are in Texas, Erik borrows $20.00 from me to purchase a disposable camera.
After we returned from Texas, Erik paid me $300.00.
HOW MUCH DOES HE STILL OWE ME?
(I feel like I know the answer, but other people strongly disagree with me, so I just feel more confused than ever!)
