You guys, oh my god, I got a promotion today! !!!! !!!!!!!!!!!
I've been an assistent manager at Angus & Robertson for YEARS. I've been a fill-in manager so many times, the go-to girl for when a store needs someone to take care of it temporarily, so I've got heaps of experience, but I kept STAGNATING in this stupid ASM role where I get just as much work as the manager, less pay, and a shittier job because I'm always the scape-goat and the in betweener for the staff. BUT. They finally gave me my OWN STORE to run and I GET TO BE THE BOSSSSSSSS!!!
YAY! I'm going to have a LEGIT excuse to get rip-roaring drunk! Nothing can kill my mood!
EVEN. Ok, I checked my emails on my phone at work and got the comment about the generation_kill rewatch discussion posts (which I set up and have tried to run and keep going) being nixed, and I spent the rest of the day being kind of bummed out. I'm so not into fandom politics, you guys don't even know. Fandom is fandom, work is work, I don't want fandom to ever feel like work. I was gonna come home and be like, oh well, fun while it lasted but hey, you try things and sometimes they happen, sometimes they don't. You bow to the modly powers and get on with stuff.
And then I saw the latest GK post saying they're back on and got kind of flush-y and happy and warm&fuzzy. :D I'm still not into fandom issues, but I'm definitely WAY INTO Generation Kill fandom as a whole. It's been so fun, you guys, and I want it to keep being fun. I want to be involved in the community because you're all great, smart, funny, talented people who I love interacting with. So I'm stoked that the discussion posts get to stay alive ♥ ♥ ♥
So now I have TWO things to be happy about. WANT A THIRD?
I have my copy of Boondock Saints 2 in my hot little hands and I'm so excited I could BURST. I'm FORCING myself to wait until tomorrow to watch it while getting sauced off my Jameson's Whiskey, but I keep staring lovingly at the cover and maybe...stroking it. A little. ONLY A LITTLE. *____*
