Surprise perfume!

I bought impulse-perfume today. SIIIIIGH. Yesterday I was loitering at the perfume counter near my shop (I swear they hate me in there. They have ONE Guerlain [Champs Elysee] and when I asked to test it I was sniffily informed that they didn't have a tester for that one as it was quite expensive. WELL) and I was hovering over the L'Occitane stuff, trying to decide if the Honey and Lemon EDT was TOO lemony, or if the Vervain EDT was a little overpowering, or if the Bergamot was going to make my eyes start watering, and then I sniffed The Vert and just about took it straight to the counter. I restrained myself though, and sprayed it on a wrist (the other wrist had Cherry Blossom on it - it didn't work for me) and loved it for the rest of the day. Trav loved it too and today I went straight back and picked up a bottle.

It is such a COOL GREEN scent. I can't imagine wearing it in cold weather, but it will be perfect this summer. It is fresh and green and it smells like you could just about drink it. It has notes of green tea, of course, but they're more in the base, an under-current, the top notes are all sparkly citrus - lime and bergamot mostly and then orange. There's also a hint of musk and a sort of general greenery - something herbal?. It isn't exactly a complex scent, but it's refreshing and not too sweet and just really delightful. I'm going to try layering it with a touch of my L'Artisan Violette and see what happens. I think the super dark violet will add a bit of depth and the floral won't be out of place in amongst all the greenery.

I have now typed the word 'green' so many times it has lost all meaning.

Something completely different! - I read a pretty scary Stephen King short story today, and now I'm kind of afraid to go to bed. Gah! Stupid Stephen King! And yesterday I finished Under the Dome, his latest. INTENSE ENDING. Not all that scary, though, more thrilling. But this story today? AUGH. *shudder* I'm taking my cat up the stairs with me...for protection.
